This
is the home of "Swan" and "Bumble"
and where you start your self steer day on the canal. There is ample parking
and is easy to find by road, being situated on the main A45 at Braunston. The
Mill House is a hotel with keenly priced rooms and spacious dining rooms where
families are well catered for. Outside there is a sun terrace overlooking the
canal and a fenced children's play area. The large restaurant and carvery is
well priced and family orientated. After a long day boating it's a fine place
to unwind with a pint and a good meal.

Canal
cruising doesn't get a lot better than from the Braunston area sometimes
referred to as 'The Mecca of canal boating' because of the meeting of canals at
'the turn' A trip towards the North takes the boater through splendid
countryside to Hillmorton where there is a watering hole, The Old Royal Oak, and
a flight of three locks. An alternative is a left turn in Braunston onto the
Oxford canal and a pleasant trip to Napton where a warm welcome and good food
can be found at our other base at The Bridge Inn. A pretty flight of locks near
there can be tackled by the energetic! Experienced crew can set off towards the
South and tackle the flight of double locks in Braunston, followed by a long
(half hour) tunnel. Not for the faint hearted!
